Introduction of the Hong Kong Wetland Park
The park is located at the northern part of Tin Shui Wai, New Territories, Hong Kong. The Agriculture and Fisheries Department and the Hong Kong Tourists Association started a project of wetland conservation in 1998. It is one of the millennium projects of the government and first opened in December 2000.
The Hong Kong Wetland Park is a place to arouse public awareness, knowledge as well as understanding of the East Asian region wetlands. The park is also the first large scale ecotourism facility for both local residents and overseas tourists in Hong Kong. On the other hand, it is a facility that to supplement the Mai Po Marshes Nature Reserve.
The Hong Kong Wetland Park has a visitor centre, a Wetland Interactive World, and a Wetland Reserve. The important part of the Wetland Interactive World is its themed exhibition galleries.
